What we collect
This site has no user accounts or login — we only collect data you give us directly, for the specific purpose of fulfilling an order or a free download request:
- Name, email address, company/organisation name
- Billing address and, where a physical item is ordered, a shipping address
- Purchase order number, if you supply one
- The products you purchase or request, and your order history with us
- For card payments, payment is handled entirely by Stripe — we never see or store your card details ourselves (see "Payment processing" below)
- For free white paper downloads, just your email address
Why we collect it
We process this data because it is necessary to perform a contract with you (fulfilling your order, issuing an invoice, sending your download link) or to pursue our legitimate business interests (record-keeping, fraud prevention, and responding to enquiries). Where you request a free white paper, we use your email address to send the download link and, if you subscribe to updates, to keep you informed about relevant publications.
Who we share it with
- Stripe — processes card payments on our behalf. Stripe's own privacy policy governs how they handle your payment details.
- Workbooks CRM — our internal customer relationship management system, used by our publications team to manage orders, invoices and subscriptions.
- Amazon Web Services (S3) — securely stores the report and directory files you purchase, and generates the time-limited links used to deliver them.
- We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
Payment processing
All card payments are handled by Stripe on their own hosted payment page. We never collect or store your card number, expiry date or CVC. Stripe is a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment processor.
Cookies
This site uses only the cookies necessary for it to function — there is no advertising or analytics tracking. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, and if you proceed to payment you will be redirected to Stripe's hosted checkout page, which sets its own cookies under Stripe's privacy policy.
How long we keep your data
We retain order and invoicing records for as long as required by UK tax and accounting law (normally six years). Download links expire after 7 days or 5 uses, whichever comes first, but the underlying order record is kept for our accounting and audit trail.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to request access to, correction of, or erasure of your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected]. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
